My first blog post. I don’t even know where to start, or how to start. So I’ll start with the who, what, when, where and blah blah blah. I’ve been living in Chiang Mai, Thailand for the past 2 months. I sold everything, or gave everything I own, away. I pulled out all the stops and said goodbye to friends and family, packed a suitcase and my mountain bike and boned out on everything I had known for 33 years. Not looking back.
All I wanted to do was ride, it’s still all I want to do. San Diego trails leave a lot to be desired for me after 20 years. I found everything I was lacking and more as soon as I threw a leg over my bike here in Thailand. The riding scene here in Chiang Mai is small but epic. I can say, without a doubt, the best, most technical, natural single track I have ever ridden is here, and I have ridden some epic shit in my life. This blog was started to document this scene and to follow me, in my quest for more epic riding around the world.
A little about me: I’m 33, single, unsponsored, unemployed, born and raised in San Diego, riding since age 13, raced everything under the sun, ridden the best bike parks in North America, and every trail in Southern California worth riding. And If you told me a year ago I would be living in Thailand and blogging about mountain biking, I would’ve said that sounds pretty rad.
